Healthy equals life

You might ask me why I have chosen this topic, it sounds very ordinary and something we have all heard about before. But recently this has become very clear to me, a friend of mine died at the age of 23 because of his ignorance when dealing with his health. He was overweight and decided to do a drastic diet and an extreme exercise regime so he could look sexy and cool. It worked; he lost 30kg’s in 3 months. What we didn’t know, was he had a heart condition that he knew about, from when he was a baby and should never have been doing this extreme diet or exercise without being supervised by a professional like a doctor. One night a month ago, he went jogging alone and had a heart attack on the side of the road fell to his knees and died. His family lost their only child in a pointless waste of vanity and ignorance. Who can say if being supervised would have saved his life, but looking back it seems evident that what he was doing was a lethal combination that cost him a very high price – his life. So what is important, to look great or be healthy? These things can be achieved together without risking yourself and hurting the ones you love. Health must be the priority, exercise and diet must be done in moderation and if you have any underlying serious health conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, get the advice of a doctor and do things properly. Life is precious, don’t throw it away.
